As dog "owners" ourselves (does
anyone really own a dog?), and working in a dog-friendly environment
(yes, you may occassionally hear wild barking in the background
when placing an order by phone), we are always excited to
custom create something special and unique for our favorite
four-legged family members (don't tell the ferrets, though,
they think *they* are the favorites!)
One day, we were working in the studio,
and our border collie, Te, was creating quite a fuss as
she tried to adjust her very dilapidated (but only 1 year
old) dog pillow/bed. As I watched her commotion (she can
be quite dramatic), I had an idea and started working on
a special bed for her to use in the studio (instead of that
pillow). We started with some beginning criteria:
1) It had to fit her comfortably
- no matter if she wanted to "sprawl" or to curl
up
2) It had to be easy to maintain
- one of the problems with many dog beds is that they are
not maintenance friendly, and difficult to clean. Let alone
the issues with the stuffing - many dog beds don't give you
easy access to the stuffing (yet, the dogs seem to be able
to find those seams and easily "unstuff" it all
by themselves) - making most dog pillows short lived, at best.
3) It had to be sturdy and "dog
friendly", yet stylish and beautiful to fit
in with our studio decor.
What we came up with is our new custom
leather dog beds. These gorgeous custom leather dog beds
are created by dog "owners", craftsmen, and artisans,
giving your dog (and your home) the most beautiful AND functional
dog furniture available - anywhere.
Each of our custom leather dog beds starts
with a custom built wood frame - giving it extra strength
and stability. Each of these frames are then covered in
4-5 ounce tooling leather (this is the same type of leather
that saddles are made of), which it tooled and dyed in your
choice of design and color - express your unique style while
expressing your favorite dogs' personality!
The cushion/pillow is another great feature
of this very special custom leather dog bed furniture. The
cushion, itself is well-stuffed with an eco-friendly stuffing,
which is surrounded by a moisture barrier. That moisture barrier
is then covered by a triple stitched case which has a reinforced
zipper on one end (so that you can easily remove the case
for washing or to add or remove stuffing for your pet's ultimate
comfort). Finally, we put an ultra soft fleece case around
the outside of the case with convenient tie edges.
This design allows you to
easily access both the interior case and the filling inside
the case without "tempting" your favorite destructive
dog with easily accessible stuffing. (We've tested this too,
and our Jack Russell can't get the interior case unzipped
to get to the stuffing, and can't chew/tear through the triple
reinforced seams of the interior case - this is probably the
ONLY stuffed item in our home or studio that she hasn't de-stuffed!).
Available with your choice of tooling on
the sides, legs (or no legs), and your choice of cushion cover
fabric, these custom leather dog beds have been designed for
your dog's comfort and for your maintenance ease.

sprawled out/lying down, and add 6" - that should be
the longest measurement.
